How to release Stress

Stress accumulates and increases like hot air inside a pressure cooker and sometimes you feel you are about to explode! Below are 3 important steps we recommend so you may release stress.

Most of our clients at La Calma when I ask them how they are feeling, before starting a treatment or developing their personalized wellness plan, tell me that they have too much stress in their lives. Most of them as a consequence feel irritable and some explain it with such sincerity that they say … I can´t even stand myself anymore !

The problem with stress is that it tends to both increase and accumulate. When you are stressed your tension levels increase and when they decrease they don´t come down completely. As a result on your next stressful episode y will begin from a higher level and so on.

When we feel we are reaching our stress limits there is no doubt that we have been stressed for a long period of time and that we are about to explode. I like to visualize it like a pressure cooker with a closed escape valve!

Paso 1 : Step 1 : Open the escape Valve!

It´s important that you find a healthy way to open your escape valve so that the air pressure may be released. For example at La Calma we recommend starting your holiday with a Relaxing Massage. The soft and rhythmic movements help you relax your body and we use healing techniques (similar to Reiki) to clean your energy and calm your emotions. This way the pressure begins to leave slowly… Pssssssss.

Step 2: Empty your cooker everyday !

The second step would be for you to learn and integrate into your life a technique or activity that helps you release stress each day so you can avoid it accumulating. It could be a sport or as many of our clients, that take a Personal Meditation Course, you can learn to meditate. With meditation in only 5 minutes you can change the negative effects of a highly stressful day and empty your pressure cooker completely when you most need it!

When you meditate you are able to relax your whole body, reducing your heart rate and blood pressure. Meditation also calms your emotions and thoughts filling yourself with a deep sensation of peace and love which makes you feel more positive and energized. The ideal routine would be to : a) meditate 5 minutes at the end of each day so that you can empty yourself completely of all the stress you may have accumulated in the day b) meditate 5 minutes every morning so you may begin your day feeling love, peace and positive so that you may attract everything that is good for you.

Step 3: Get rid off your pressure cooker forever !

The third step is the most liberating one as it consists in transforming how you live your life so that you don´t have a pressure cooker effect anymore! To help our clients achieve this, we have developed The Stress and Anxiety Programme. This programme is based on personal life coaching sessions combined with meditation techniques that are all focused around stress and anxiety. The aim is that, although you will still have problems and /or difficulties in your life, you will be better prepared to deal with them in a positive manner.
